Company Fined Over Contamination Deaths

A Warkworth explosives company has been ordered to pay over half a million dollars after toxic water from it’s site flowed onto a neighbouring farm and killed several livestock.

Dyno Nobel was slapped with a $460,000 fine plus legal costs for the slip up which almost made its way into the Hunter River.

Turns out the water in the farmers dam had significant levels of nitrate and more than six times the toxic level for cows.
