A man’s been charged following a pursuit through Edgeworth last night.
It’s believed police attempted to pull the man over for a breath test on Neilsen Street around 11:15pm before he allegedly sped off.
The man then reportedly abandoned the car and fled on foot into a nearby creek
He was arrested after a struggle a short time later.
Officers say they also found a weapon, drugs and stolen items in the car.
The 38-year-old was taken to the John Hunter Hospital to undergo mandatory testing but allegedly refused.
The man was hit with a raft of offences including driving while disqualified.
He’s been refused bail and will front Toronto Local Court today.
