A man has died after falling off his bicycle in Newcastle East overnight.
Emergency services were called to the intersection of Pacific Street and Scott Street around 10:30pm where the 51-year-old had suffered head injuries.
He was taken to the John Hunter Hospital where he later died.
Witnesses have told police the man attempted to cross the tram tracks when he fell.
A crime scene has been established.
