Man Charged Following Maryland Police Operation

A man’s been charged over an attempted murder in Sydney following a police operation in Maryland yesterday.

Police spent much of the morning searching a home on Maryland Drive yesterday, where they arrested a 28-year-old man.

Investigators also searched two homes in Mayfield and another in Maryland where a 27-year-old woman was arrested over traffic offences.

The man has now been charged with a raft of offences including shoot with intent to murder for his alleged role in the Lansvale attack, where it’s alleged two men broke into the granny flat on the 13th of February, shot the occupant in the stomach and stole cash, jewellery and a designer handbag.

Police began investigating in Newcastle after a car they believed to be linked to the crime was found in Tighes Hill a few weeks later.

The man will front Newcastle Local Court today.

Police are still looking for another man who may be able to assist in their investigation he’s described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged in his mid-20s, around 175 centimetres tall with a medium build and with brown hair.
