Get your tickets at Pelican Markets on the first Saturday of the month, or at Lake Macquarie Square shopping centre outside either Coles or Woolworths on the second Saturday of the month and the fourth Thursday of the month until the raffle is drawn next September. For the third time, we are welcoming local dinosaur expert Mike Dawson with an exhibition drawn from his amazing collection of museum quality

Extinct Swamp Dwellers
For the third time, we are welcoming local dinosaur expert Mike Dawson with an exhibition drawn from his amazing collection of museum quality casts of fossils. This exhibition will focus on extinct animals known to inhabit wetlands millions of years ago. It will include insects, labryinthodonts, amphibians, reptiles, birds and much more.
• View the exhibition and discover Who ate the Dinosaur? Open 10am and 12 noon daily.
• Meet collection owner and local expert Mike Dawson who will be on hand to answer questions and talk about the collection.
• Create your own fossil.
• Follow the footprints and track what has come out of the swamp.
• Visit the Animal House and Visitor Centre and meet some relatives of the se extinct swamp dwellers.
Dip-netting, bird feeding, canoeing, children’s playground are available as usual.
Bring a picnic or eat at the café.
The Hunter Wetlands Visitor Centre is open 9am to 4pm daily
Adults and children (4 year ) $7.50

One of the most prolific and popular composers of the past century, Philip Glass’ music has spanned concert works for major orchestras and ensembles around the world, Academy Award-nominated film scores (The Hours, The Truman Show) and touring with his genre defying namesake, the Philip Glass Ensemble. In this premiere concert event, Omega Ensemble gives the first Australian performance of Glass’ arresting Piano Concerto No.3 (2017), a work that moves delicately between shadow and light in Glass’ unmistakable musical language.
This premiere work is accompanied by a world premiere from pre-eminent Australian composer Carl Vine, his first Clarinet Quintet, and a co-commission with the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra, alongside Copland’s expressive Clarinet Concerto and Max Richter’s heartbreaking On the Nature of Daylight.
