Come along to meet Bruce at the gallery as he will be giving artists talks from 1 – 3 pm on Saturday, August 17 and also Sunday, September 1 at 2 pm. Alison Abbott is the Hunter Region Botanic Gardens Bonsai curate and has an extensive collection of her own Bonsai trees. She has practised this artform for many years and would like to share her knowledge. This presentation it designed to introduce beginners to the art and skill of creating beautiful Bonsai.
You will learn about technique, materials and soils as well as maintenance for healthy trees. There will be a display of Bonsai and morning tea is included.
Follow-up sessions will be offered at a later date for styling, re-potting and ‘penjing’ – landscape group plantings and forests.
Workshop will be held on Sunday, 8th September. Cost includes entry to Hunter Region Botanic Gardens, morning tea and lecture.

Feel part of a community who are connected through their desire to advocate for suicide prevention in our local community this World Suicide Prevention Day.

We will walk together to remember loved ones and help other Australians in crisis come out of the shadows and into the light.
