Plan to combat loneliness in Newcastle’s elderly

A new plan has been announced to try to combat isolation and loneliness among older people in Newcastle.

The “Connections for Ageing Well” program is a combined initiative of Newcastle Council, Hunter Medical Research Institute and the Hunter Ageing Alliance.

The new program will focus on connecting seniors with community groups, expert advice and skill-building for ageing well, managing health and creating social connections.
